Water Truck Driver Job Description

Position Overview:
A Water Truck Driver is responsible for operating a water truck to transport and distribute water for various purposes, such as dust control, soil compaction, firefighting, or construction site needs. The role requires careful driving, loading, and unloading of water, as well as routine maintenance and safety checks on the vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a water truck to deliver water to designated locations.
• Load and unload water tanks, hoses, and other equipment as needed.
• Control water flow for dust suppression, soil compaction, fire suppression, or landscaping.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on the water truck and report any issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations.
• Maintain logs of work performed, including routes, water usage, and vehicle maintenance.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and other team members for efficient operations.

Qualifications:

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
• Experience driving large trucks, preferably water trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
