The Warehouse Specialist Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations and leading a team of warehouse associates. This role ensures efficient, safe, and accurate handling of inventory, shipments, and logistics processes. The Lead also serves as the point of contact for warehouse staff and works closely with supervisors and other departments to maintain high standards of productivity, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory counts, audits, and reconciliations.
- Train, mentor, and guide warehouse staff to maintain productivity and performance standards.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with logistics, purchasing, and customer service teams regarding order statuses and discrepancies.
- Resolve operational issues and escalate significant concerns to management.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Ensure proper documentation and data entry for shipping and receiving activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or vocational degree preferred.
- 3+ years of warehouse experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and safety procedures.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.
- Forklift certification (if required by employer).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
