Shutter Technician 

Position Overview:
A Shutter Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of various types of shutters, including manual and automated systems. This role involves working on both residential and commercial properties, ensuring shutters operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install manual and motorized shutters, including roller shutters, security grilles, and window shutters.
  • Perform regular maintenance and safety inspections on existing shutter systems.
  • Diagnose faults and repair damaged or malfunctioning components such as motors, tracks, lath, slats, and controls.
  • Program and test automated shutter systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and client specifications.
  • Provide customer service by explaining operation and maintenance requirements to clients.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed, parts used, and service reports.
  • Use hand and power tools, lifts, and other equipment as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in shutter installation or a similar trade (e.g., doors, windows, garage systems).
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varied weather conditions.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license (often required for field work).

Desirable:

  • Certification in electrical systems or relevant trades.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with smart home integrations for motorized shutters.
