Auto Sliding & Revolving Door Technician – Job Description
Position Summary:
An Auto Sliding & Revolving Door Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of automatic sliding doors, revolving doors, and related access systems. This role ensures all door systems are functioning safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair automatic sliding, swing, and revolving doors in commercial and industrial settings.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and sensor-related issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure doors operate reliably and efficiently.
- Calibrate and adjust sensors, motors, tracks, belts, and door controls.
- Ensure all work meets ANSI, AAADM, and local safety regulations.
- Document work performed and report findings or recommendations to clients or supervisors.
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide on-site support or training as needed.
- Respond to emergency service calls as part of an on-call rotation (if applicable).
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in automatic door systems, electrical, or mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with AAADM certification (or willingness to obtain it).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (for field technicians).
- Good physical condition; able to lift, climb, and work in various environments.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with brands such as Dorma, Gezer, Stanley, Assar Abloy, or similar.
- Background in electromechanical systems, access control, or building automation.
