Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and products. This role requires advanced knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to manage complex projects from concept through production. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical design, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical design projects, including conceptualization, detailed design, and prototype development.
  • Perform engineering analysis (thermal, structural, fluid dynamics, etc.) to ensure design integrity and functionality.
  • Oversee and contribute to the preparation of technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, manufacturing, and quality engineers.
  • Review and approve design changes, ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for engineering projects.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and industry trends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on product development and design.
  • Proficiency in CAD and engineering software tools (e.g., SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, sheet metal, etc.).
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with FMEA, DFMA, Six Sigma, or lean manufacturing principles.
  • Prior work in [specific industry, e.g., medical devices, aerospace, robotics].

Work Environment:

  • Office and/or lab environment with occasional travel to manufacturing or client sites.
  • May involve hands-on work with prototypes, test setups, or industrial equipment.
