Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Piping-cum-Structural Engineer (Installation) to oversee and coordinate the installation of piping and structural systems at site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both piping and structural engineering, including experience with field installation, quality control, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation Supervision:
Plan, monitor, and supervise on-site installation of piping and structural systems according to approved drawings and specifications. - Technical Oversight:
Review and interpret engineering drawings (Isometrics, GA drawings, structural fabrication drawings) and ensure alignment with project requirements. - Coordination:
Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate installation activities. - Quality Assurance:
Ensure that piping and structural installation meets quality standards, codes (e.g., ASME, ASTM, AISC), and safety regulations. - Material Handling:
Manage material tracking, inspection, and handling at the site to avoid installation delays. - Welding & NDT Supervision:
Oversee welding activities, joint preparation, and NDT testing, ensuring compliance with WPS and ITPs. - Progress Reporting:
Provide regular updates on installation progress, issues, and solutions to the Project Manager. - Site Modifications:
Identify and resolve any site discrepancies or clashes, and initiate field change requests if necessary. - Safety Compliance:
Promote and enforce safety practices and ensure all activities comply with HSE standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Structural Engineering or related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in piping and structural installation on EPC, oil & gas, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using tools like AutoCAD, Navisworks, or similar.
- Experience with installation planning tools and site coordination.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced construction environments and manage multiple site teams.
Preferred Certifications:
- CSWIP / AWS / NACE / PMP (optional, depending on project scope)
- Safety certifications like OSHA or NEBOSH are an added advantage.
