Draftsman Plumbing & Firefighting

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman specializing in Plumbing and Firefighting systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, layouts, and schematics based on engineering designs and project specifications. This role requires a solid understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, with a focus on plumbing and fire protection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings and shop drawings for plumbing and firefighting systems.
• Interpret architectural and engineering plans to create coordinated MEP layouts.
• Ensure drawings comply with local codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, project managers, or site conditions.
• Maintain and update drawing logs and documentation.
• Coordinate with other MEP disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
• Assist in quantity take-offs and material estimation from drawings.
• Conduct site visits to verify dimensions or resolve drawing-related issues when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is a plus.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in plumbing and firefighting drafting.
• Strong knowledge of piping layouts, isometric drawings, and system schematics.
• Familiarity with NFPA standards, local building codes, and plumbing regulations.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of BIM coordination.
• Experience with clash detection tools (e.g., Navisworks).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
