The Scaffolding Foreman is responsible for overseeing the erection, maintenance, and dismantling of scaffolding structures on construction sites. This role involves leading a team of scaffolders to ensure that all scaffolding work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate scaffolding crews during all phases of scaffolding installation and removal.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to scaffolding and construction site work.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan scaffolding layout and erection.
- Inspect scaffolding structures regularly for stability, safety, and compliance.
- Train and mentor scaffolding team members, promoting best practices and safe work habits.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure scaffolding supports overall project requirements.
- Manage equipment and material inventory, ordering supplies as needed.
- Report progress and any issues to site management promptly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or safety problems related to scaffolding operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a scaffolding foreman or senior scaffolder.
- Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems, materials, and safety standards (OSHA or relevant local regulations).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Leadership skills with experience managing and motivating teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical fitness and comfort working at heights.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., scaffolding safety certification) are preferred.
