Rebar Worker 

A Rebar Worker (Reinforcing Steel Worker) is responsible for installing steel reinforcing bars and mesh in concrete structures to provide strength and support. They read blueprints and engineering drawings to determine the layout and placement of rebar in construction projects such as buildings, bridges, highways, and tunnels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cut, bend, and tie steel reinforcing bars (rebar) according to specifications.
  • Assemble and position rebar cages and frameworks before concrete is poured.
  • Secure rebar using wire ties, welding, or mechanical fasteners.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and instructions to determine the size, shape, and location of rebar.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper rebar placement and compliance with safety standards.
  • Inspect completed work to verify accuracy and adherence to design.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
