Job Summary:

The Radiographer (CT & Ultrasound) is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using Computed Tomography (CT) and Ultrasound technologies. They ensure high-quality imaging services for accurate diagnosis while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality. The role involves working collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely and effective diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging procedures using CT and Ultrasound equipment.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Operate imaging equipment efficiently and accurately, adjusting settings according to examination protocols.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality diagnostic images with optimal clarity and contrast.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to assist in accurate diagnosis and reporting.
  • Monitor and maintain imaging equipment, reporting malfunctions and coordinating necessary servicing.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation of imaging procedures.
  • Adhere to radiation safety regulations and infection control policies.
  • Manage appointment schedules effectively to reduce patient wait times and optimize workflow.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Radiography or Medical Imaging.
  • Registration with a recognized Radiography or Medical Imaging board (e.g., HCPC, ARRT, or national equivalent).
  • Certified and experienced in both CT and Ultrasound modalities.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical radiography setting (may vary based on employer).
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in operating CT and Ultrasound imaging equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and radiographic techniques.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with PACS and RIS systems.
