The Plumber Supervisor oversees plumbing operations and maintenance activities for residential, commercial, or industrial properties. This role is responsible for supervising a team of plumbers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and plumbing codes, coordinating installations and repairs, and managing work schedules and resources efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of plumbing staff.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and complies with building codes and safety regulations.
- Assign work orders, schedule repairs, and prioritize tasks.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate plumbing staff.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues and propose solutions.
- Review blueprints, building codes, and specifications to plan plumbing installations.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, materials, and equipment.
- Order supplies and maintain inventory of plumbing materials.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and materials used.
- Collaborate with other departments (electrical, HVAC, construction, etc.) as needed.
- Respond to emergency plumbing situations and coordinate appropriate response.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to workplace safety and conduct.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or plumbing license preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of plumbing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, safety standards, and building codes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficient in using plumbing tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
