Abricating, assembling, and installing piping components according to technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements. This role involves working with various materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys, using tools like cutting machines, grinders, and welding equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, and piping specifications.
- Measure, cut, bevel, and prepare pipes using hand tools and machinery.
- Fit and assemble pipe components using welding, threading, or mechanical connections.
- Fabricate pipe spools, supports, and fittings as required by the design.
- Ensure pipe components are fabricated within specified tolerances and dimensions.
- Operate machinery such as pipe benders, cutters, and welding machines.
- Follow safety standards and ensure compliance with company and industry regulations.
- Coordinate with welders, pipefitters, and other team members to complete fabrication and installation tasks.
- Inspect and test piping systems for leaks or structural integrity before and after installation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a piping fabricator or similar role.
- Ability to read and interpret piping drawings and P&IDs.
- Familiarity with welding techniques (TIG, MIG, Stick) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of material types and their applications.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and practices.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in pipe fabrication or welding (e.g., ASME, AWS).
- Experience in industrial settings such as oil & gas, power plants, or shipyards.
- Basic knowledge of QA/QC requirements for piping.
