Job Summary:
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Mechanical Fitter / Technician with multi-skilled capabilities to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery across various departments, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble, and commission mechanical equipment and machinery according to specifications and drawings.
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency of plant machinery.
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and carry out repairs in a timely manner.
- Work across multiple disciplines including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on equipment conditions.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Operate lifting and handling equipment safely where required.
- Support emergency breakdown repairs as needed, working flexible hours if required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Multi-skilled with knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical fitness and ability to work in various environments including confined spaces or at height.
- Relevant technical certifications or vocational qualifications in mechanical engineering or maintenance.
- Willingness to work shifts and respond to emergency call-outs when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CNC machinery, conveyors, or production line equipment.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
