Mechanical Fitter / Technician – Rubber & Propeller
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Fitter / Technician specializing in Rubber and Propeller components is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of rubber parts and propeller systems in machinery and equipment. This role requires technical skills in mechanical fitting, knowledge of rubber materials, and expertise in propeller assembly and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Assembly:
Assemble, fit, and install rubber components and propeller systems on machinery and equipment according to specifications and technical drawings. - Maintenance & Repair:
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of rubber parts and propellers to detect wear, damage, or defects. Repair or replace faulty components to prevent operational downtime. - Testing & Adjustment:
Test propeller systems for balance, alignment, and performance. Make precise adjustments to ensure smooth operation and compliance with safety standards. - Troubleshooting:
Diagnose mechanical faults related to rubber seals, gaskets, and propeller components. Apply appropriate solutions promptly to maintain equipment reliability. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts replaced. Report any irregularities or potential risks to supervisors. - Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during handling, installation, and repair of rubber and propeller components. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. - Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project timelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Technician, preferably with a focus on rubber components and propeller systems.
- Solid understanding of mechanical principles and the properties of rubber materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with balancing and alignment techniques for propellers.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
