We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter/Technician – Turbocharger to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, and testing of turbochargers and associated components, ensuring high standards of workmanship and compliance with safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Disassemble turbochargers and related components following proper safety and procedural guidelines.
- Inspect and assess turbocharger parts for wear, damage, and suitability for reuse or replacement.
- Carry out mechanical repairs including balancing, machining, and component replacement.
- Reassemble and test turbochargers to manufacturer standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate service and inspection reports, job cards, and records.
- Ensure all work is completed within the allocated time and according to quality standards.
- Follow safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards in all workshop activities.
- Assist with on-site turbocharger maintenance, when required.
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Trade certificate or diploma in Mechanical Fitting, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with turbochargers (marine, automotive, or industrial sectors).
- Knowledge of rotating equipment and precision mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Experience with dynamic balancing and precision measuring tools is an advantage.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in workshop environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
