Employment Information

To carry out installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various types of industrial pumps and related mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, overhaul, and repair a wide range of centrifugal, submersible, diaphragm, gear, and positive displacement pumps.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
  • Dismantle and assemble pumps and rotating equipment following manufacturer specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Diagnose faults and mechanical issues related to seals, bearings, shafts, impellers, and couplings.
  • Replace worn or defective mechanical components, including seals, gaskets, O-rings, and bearings.
  • Perform shaft alignments and vibration analysis (where applicable).
  • Work with precision tools and measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, dial gauges, calipers).
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and service reports.
  • Follow all safety standards and procedures during work.
  • Support project installations and commissioning of new pump systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve recurring issues and recommend improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Technical Certificate, Diploma, or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Mechanical Fitter or Pump Technician in industrial, manufacturing, water treatment, or oil & gas environments.
  • Strong knowledge of different pump types and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Experience working with rotating equipment and alignment procedures.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices in mechanical work.

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts if required.
