Heavy Driver

A Heavy Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy vehicles such as trailers, trucks, dumpers, tankers, or buses. The role involves transporting goods, materials, or passengers while adhering to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
• Transport goods/materials to designated locations on time.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any issues or defects.
• Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and unloaded.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, delivery times, and any incidents.
• Follow traffic laws, safety standards, and company procedures at all times.
• Communicate with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers as needed.
• Assist with minor vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
• Report delays, accidents, or emergencies promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid heavy vehicle driving license (
• Minimum 3 years of experience driving heavy vehicles.
• Good knowledge of traffic laws and road safety regulations.
• Ability to read maps, GPS, and delivery documentation.
• Physically fit and able to handle long hours of driving.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

• Long hours on the road, often in varying weather conditions.
• May require night shifts, weekends, or holidays.
• Must wear appropriate safety gear as required.
