A Fuel Truck Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing fuel trucks and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role involves performing routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and conducting repairs on engines, hydraulic systems, fuel pumps, and other vehicle components specific to fuel delivery trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on fuel trucks to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in fuel trucks using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Repair or replace faulty parts such as engines, brakes, tires, fuel pumps, hoses, and electrical components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records for each vehicle.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to schedule and prioritize repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Assist with fueling equipment maintenance and calibration as needed.
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or service requests.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with heavy vehicles or fuel trucks.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and fuel delivery equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
