The Environmental Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing environmental compliance and sustainability programs across company operations. This role ensures adherence to environmental laws and regulations, implements environmental management systems (EMS), and promotes continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA).
- Monitor and manage air, water, and waste permits; ensure all environmental reporting is accurate and timely.
- Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Supervise a team of environmental technicians or staff, providing leadership and performance management.
- Coordinate spill response, hazardous materials handling, and emergency preparedness.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and health & safety teams on sustainable practices.
- Maintain records of environmental performance and submit regular reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive the adoption of environmentally friendly practices.
- Serve as the site’s primary contact for environmental compliance issues and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in environmental compliance or management, with supervisory experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and standards (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, CAA).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) is a plus.
