Employment Information


An Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical theory, wiring, circuits, and safety protocols to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems and components according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing devices and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical equipment to prevent breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to optimize system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues and provide timely solutions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments safely and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and circuitry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety codes and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good manual dexterity and physical fitness for handling electrical equipment.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., electrician’s license) are preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate degree in electrical technology is a plus.
