Condition Monitoring Technician – Job Description

Overview:
Condition Monitoring Technicians are responsible for inspecting, testing, and analyzing machinery and equipment to detect faults or potential failures before they occur. Their goal is to help maintain optimal operational performance and prevent costly breakdowns through regular condition assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and scheduled inspections of machinery using condition monitoring tools and techniques such as vibration analysis, ultrasonic testing, infrared thermography, oil analysis, and motor current analysis.
  • Collect and record data on equipment conditions and interpret the results to identify any abnormalities or signs of wear and tear.
  • Report findings and recommend necessary maintenance actions to prevent equipment failure.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain and calibrate monitoring equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Keep detailed records of inspections, test results, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all inspections.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of condition monitoring technologies and predictive maintenance principles.
  • Experience with vibration analysis tools, ultrasonic detectors, thermography cameras, and oil analysis equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills to report findings clearly to maintenance and management teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work in various environments including confined spaces, heights, and noisy industrial settings.
