The Building Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly environment within a facility. This includes monitoring building access, reporting safety concerns, ensuring compliance with facility rules, and providing basic support to staff, visitors, or residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor entrances, exits, hallways, and common areas for safety and security.
  • Check identification and verify credentials of visitors and contractors.
  • Report suspicious behavior, unauthorized access, or emergencies to the appropriate authorities.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the building to identify maintenance or safety issues.
  • Ensure compliance with building rules, fire codes, and evacuation procedures.
  • Assist in crowd control during events or emergency situations.
  • Provide information and directions to visitors or occupants.
  • Maintain incident logs and prepare reports when necessary.
  • Respond to minor facility-related issues or report them to maintenance staff

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security or facilities management is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a monitoring, security, or facilities role is preferred.
  • Strong observational and communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergencies.
  • Basic computer literacy for reporting and communication tasks.
  • Physically able to perform rounds and stand for extended periods.
