Asst. Diesel Mechanics

The Assistant Diesel Mechanic supports senior mechanics in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their career in diesel mechanics and looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
• Help with vehicle inspections and identify mechanical issues
• Clean and organize tools, parts, and work areas
• Maintain accurate records of services and repairs
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations
• Assist in ordering and stocking parts and supplies

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training preferred)
• Basic understanding of diesel engine components and functions
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
• Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)

Preferred Skills:

• Enrollment in or completion of a diesel technology program
• Some hands-on experience through internships or workshops
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
