Employment Information

The Welding Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all welding activities and welded structures meet specified standards and project requirements. This includes inspecting welds for quality and compliance, reviewing welding procedures, maintaining records, and ensuring that welding operations adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure compliance with applicable codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO) and project specifications.
  • Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material certifications.
  • Conduct visual inspections and use non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as UT, RT, MT, or PT.
  • Monitor welding activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures and safety standards.
  • Document inspection results, maintain detailed reports, and issue non-conformance reports when necessary.
  • Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and quality assurance personnel to resolve welding-related issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to welders on quality standards and welding techniques when required.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Welding Inspector (e.g., AWS CWI, CSWIP, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of welding codes, standards, and procedures.
  • Experience in non-destructive testing methods (certification is a plus).
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
