Job Summary:
The MEP Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, installation, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in building projects. This includes HVAC systems, fire protection, lighting, power distribution, and water supply systems. The MEP Engineer ensures all systems are compliant with project specifications, safety standards, and building codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee the installation of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated design and project success.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design standards.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and system layouts using CAD, Revit, or BIM software.
- Manage project timelines and budgets for MEP works.
- Ensure systems are energy-efficient, sustainable, and meet all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Resolve technical issues, perform system troubleshooting, and propose corrective actions.
- Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors during construction and installation phases.
- Participate in testing, commissioning, and handover procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
- Professional certification or licensure (PE, LEED, PMP) is a plus.
- 3–8 years of experience in MEP design or site supervision.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM, and other engineering design tools.
- Strong knowledge of international building codes, local regulations, and sustainability practices.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills.
