Job Summary:
The Scaffolding Supervisor - 1 is responsible for supervising all scaffolding activities on-site to ensure safe, efficient, and timely erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolds. This role ensures full compliance with project safety standards and regulations while leading a team of scaffolders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise scaffolding erection, modification, and dismantling as per project drawings and safety guidelines.
- Inspect scaffolds regularly to ensure structural integrity and compliance with safety standards.
- Allocate work to scaffolders and helpers, ensuring correct use of materials and tools.
- Maintain scaffolding inventory and request materials in advance.
- Coordinate with construction and HSE teams to plan scaffolding activities.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure all scaffolding personnel follow safety procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation including daily work reports, inspection checklists, and permits.
- Identify hazards, report near-misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to scaffolders.
- Ensure work is completed within time, quality, and safety targets.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-7 years of scaffolding experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Certified Scaffolding Supervisor (CITB / CISRS / OSHA / equivalent recognized certification).
- Familiarity with scaffolding standards (e.g., BS EN 12811, OSHA standards).
- Good knowledge of materials, load calculations, and scaffold types (tube & fitting, system scaffold, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret scaffold drawings and work plans.
- Physically fit and capable of working in various site conditions.
