Job Summary:
The Rigger Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of rigging crews engaged in lifting, moving, and placing equipment and materials. This role ensures compliance with safety regulations and project requirements, while maintaining high productivity and work quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct a team of riggers and signalmen in daily rigging operations.
- Plan and execute rigging tasks in accordance with lifting plans and safety procedures.
- Inspect rigging gear and lifting equipment before use, ensuring proper condition and certification.
- Communicate with crane operators, engineers, and other team members to coordinate lifts.
- Ensure all lifting activities are conducted safely and in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Maintain daily work reports, rigging logs, and equipment usage records.
- Train and mentor junior riggers in proper rigging techniques and safety procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings regularly.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with heavy lifts or complex rigging tasks.
- Report incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5–7 years of rigging experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory/foreman role.
- Certification in Rigging (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 from a recognized institution).
- Knowledge of international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, LOLER).
- Ability to read and interpret lifting plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
