QC Mechanical Supervisor

Job Summary:

The QC Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating quality control activities related to mechanical systems, equipment, and installations. This role ensures that all mechanical work complies with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. The QC Mechanical Supervisor supports inspection, testing, documentation, and the implementation of the Quality Management System on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise all mechanical quality control activities on-site.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate and perform inspections and tests on mechanical installations (e.g., piping, HVAC, rotating and static equipment).
• Ensure welding activities are carried out according to approved procedures (WPS, PQR, and WPQ).
• Verify materials, equipment, and tools used for mechanical works comply with project standards.
• Review and ensure completion of mechanical punch lists and final acceptance criteria.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and non-conformances.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation.
• Support third-party and client inspections and audits.
• Ensure safety and quality are maintained throughout all mechanical work phases.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in QC for mechanical systems in [industry: e.g., oil & gas, power plant, construction].
• Certification in Quality (e.g., CSWIP, AWS-CWI, ASNT Level II in NDT methods) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
• Familiarity with QA/QC software and documentation systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
