Job Purpose:

To ensure all Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. The QC E&I Inspector is responsible for the inspection and verification of E&I installations, testing, and commissioning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and verify installation of electrical and instrumentation systems (cable trays, wiring, instruments, junction boxes, panels, etc.).
  • Conduct routine inspections and surveillance activities at various project stages (pre-installation, during installation, and post-installation).
  • Review and verify loop checks, megger tests, continuity checks, and grounding tests.
  • Inspect calibration and installation of field instruments (pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as IEC, NEC, IEEE, and project-specific codes.
  • Monitor and report non-conformities, recommend corrective actions, and verify corrective measures.
  • Review and verify Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation for QA/QC handover dossiers.
  • Coordinate with construction teams and third-party inspectors.
  • Assist in final walkdowns and punch list verification.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in QC inspection of E&I works, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of international codes (IEC, NEC, API, etc.).
  • Certification such as ISO 9001:2015, or relevant E&I inspection credentials (e.g., Comp Ex, ATEX, NACE, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in interpreting E&I drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and termination details.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
