Petrol Mechanics – Job Description
Petrol Mechanics, also known as Automotive Service Technicians, specialize in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of petrol-powered vehicles. They diagnose mechanical issues, perform routine servicing, and repair components such as engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, brakes, and fuel systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair petrol engine vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and spark plug servicing.
- Tune engines and ensure emissions meet environmental standards.
- Test vehicle systems using diagnostic tools and road tests.
- Replace or repair faulty parts like clutches, radiators, brakes, and steering systems.
- Maintain service records and provide customer service when explaining vehicle issues.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of petrol engines and vehicle systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
- Good problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Vocational training or certificate in Automotive Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
