Chargehand Instrumentation
A Chargehand Instrumentation is a supervisory position responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of instrumentation technicians and engineers involved in the installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems in industrial plants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of instrumentation technicians during installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of instruments and control systems.
- Ensure all instrumentation work complies with company standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Coordinate daily tasks, assign work, and monitor progress to meet project deadlines and operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation and control system issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Assist in the calibration and validation of instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, analyser's, and control valves.
- Maintain accurate documentation of instrumentation activities, including work orders, reports, and maintenance logs.
- Support training and development of junior technicians, ensuring skill enhancement and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments (mechanical, electrical, process engineering) to ensure integrated and efficient plant operations.
- Participate in safety meetings and enforce safety protocols among the team.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant diploma or certification in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Several years of hands-on experience in instrumentation within industrial or process plants.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, control loops, and calibration techniques.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in industrial environments.
