Job Title: Welding Foreman
Job Summary:
The Welding Foreman oversees welding operations and supervises welding crews on construction, manufacturing, or industrial job sites. Responsible for ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. Acts as a key liaison between workers, engineers, and site management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of welders and related personnel.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Inspect completed welds and ensure adherence to quality standards and codes (e.g., AWS, ASME).
- Schedule work assignments and allocate resources to meet project deadlines.
- Monitor welding processes and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Conduct tool and equipment inspections; ensure maintenance and availability.
- Train and mentor welding staff in techniques, procedures, and safety.
- Report progress and issues to project managers or site supervisors.
- Collaborate with other trades and departments to coordinate workflow.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a welder, with strong leadership or supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of welding standards and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
- Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
- Typically works on-site in industrial, construction, or fabrication settings.
- May require working in confined spaces, at heights, or in varying weather conditions.
