The Vessel Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of pressure vessels, tanks, and related components. This includes reading technical drawings, operating welding and fabrication equipment, and ensuring all work meets industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications for vessel fabrication.
- Cut, shape, and assemble steel and other metals using tools such as torches, plasma cutters, and welding equipment.
- Perform welding (TIG, MIG, or Stick) to fabricate or repair vessels in accordance with ASME or other applicable codes.
- Inspect fabricated components for quality and accuracy.
- Operate machinery such as grinders, saws, rollers, and hydraulic presses.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during fabrication processes.
- Work with engineers and quality control personnel to meet project specifications.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience in vessel or structural fabrication.
- Proficiency in welding and metalworking techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Familiarity with ASME codes and pressure vessel standards is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred Certifications:
- AWS or ASME welding certifications.
- Forklift or crane operation certification.
