Key Responsibilities
1. Receiving Goods
- Inspect incoming goods for quality and quantity.
- Verify items against delivery notes or purchase orders.
- Report discrepancies or damages to the procurement department.
2. Storing Materials
- Properly arrange items based on category, type, or frequency of use.
- Label items with appropriate codes or descriptions.
- Ensure safe storage to prevent damage, theft, or spoilage.
3. Issuing Goods
- Issue materials to departments or customers as per requisition.
- Update records of issued materials.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) or LIFO (Last In, First Out) based on inventory policy.
4. Inventory Management
- Conduct regular physical stock counts.
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Reorder items when stock falls below the threshold.
5. Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Maintain bin cards, stock registers, and computerized inventory systems.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Handle documents like GRN (Goods Receipt Note), MRN (Material Requisition Note), SRN (Store Return Note).
6. Security and Safety
- Prevent unauthorized access to the store.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, especially for hazardous materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store area.
