A Rigger Supervisor oversees rigging operations, ensuring the safe lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy equipment and materials. This role is crucial on construction sites, in shipyards, offshore platforms, and industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate rigging crew activities during lifting and moving operations.
- Plan and oversee rigging tasks according to project specifications and safety standards.
- Inspect rigging equipment (chains, slings, pulleys, winches, etc.) for wear and compliance.
- Ensure correct lifting techniques and procedures are followed.
- Conduct pre-lift meetings and risk assessments.
- Interpret lifting plans, drawings, and load charts.
- Liaise with crane operators, engineers, and other site personnel.
- Enforce site safety regulations and permit-to-work systems.
- Train and mentor junior riggers.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of rigging operations.

- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
- Certified Rigger (Level 2 or 3) and/or Rigging Supervisor certificate.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, LEEA, NCCCO, or site-specific).
- 5+ years experience in rigging, including supervisory roles.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Excellent understanding of rigging techniques and equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and load charts.
- Sound judgment in assessing risks and executing safe lifts.
- Physical fitness and comfort working at heights or in challenging conditions.
