Instrument Technician (Bagging Line)

The Instrument Technician (Bagging Line) is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating instruments and control systems associated with the bagging and packaging line. The role ensures smooth functioning of all automation and instrumentation to maximize operational efficiency and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instruments used in the bagging line (e.g., load cells, weight scales, sensors, actuators, and control panels).
• Calibrate weighing systems, level sensors, proximity sensors, limit switches, and other field instruments as per standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in PLC-based control systems, HMIs, and related field devices.
• Monitor and support daily operations to ensure instruments are functioning within required parameters.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
• Document all maintenance and calibration activities accurately.
• Assist during shutdowns and start-ups of the bagging section.
• Coordinate with production and electrical teams for maintenance planning and issue resolution.
• Suggest improvements in automation and instrumentation for better performance and reliability.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in an industrial plant, preferably in a bagging or packaging line.
• Familiarity with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), industrial sensors, weighing systems, and pneumatics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret instrument diagrams, loop drawings, and control schematics.

Physical & Work Environment:

• Must be able to work in industrial environments with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to work on shift basis, weekends, or during plant shutdowns if required.
