Paver / Side Walk Layer

Job Summary:  

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Paver / Sidewalk Layer to join our construction team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing, leveling, and installing various paving materials such as concrete slabs, paving stones, bricks, or asphalt on sidewalks, pedestrian paths, driveways, and public spaces.  

Key Responsibilities:  

- Prepare the ground by excavating, leveling, and compacting the surface.  

- Lay base materials such as gravel, sand, or mortar to ensure proper drainage and support.  

- Install paving units (concrete slabs, interlocking bricks, stone, or asphalt) in straight lines, curves, or custom patterns.  

- Use hand tools and machinery (e.g., compactors, trowels, cutters) for accurate placement and finishing.  

- Align paving to specifications using string lines, levels, and measuring tools.  

- Cut and shape materials to fit designated areas precisely.  

- Perform post-installation tasks including compaction, sanding, and sealing (if applicable).  

- Ensure all work meets safety standards and project specifications.  

- Clean and maintain tools and work area.  

Requirements:  

- Proven experience in paving or hardscape construction (minimum 1 year preferred).  

- Familiarity with various paving materials and techniques.  

- Ability to read basic site plans and follow technical instructions.  

- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials and working long hours outdoors.  

- Attention to detail, good eye for level and alignment.  

- Team-oriented with strong work ethic.  

- Knowledge of health and safety standards in construction.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

- Experience with roadwork or public infrastructure projects.  

- Basic understanding of drainage and surface slope planning.  

Work Conditions:  

- Outdoor work in various weather conditions.  

- May require overtime or weekend work depending on project deadlines.
