The Mechanical Foreman oversees and coordinates the work of mechanical crews engaged in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. This role involves supervising daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintaining schedules to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical teams in construction, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Plan daily workloads and assign tasks to workers based on skills and project needs.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Monitor project progress and provide updates to project managers or engineers.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and complies with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and adherence to specifications.
- Manage tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring their proper use and maintenance.
- Train and mentor junior staff and new workers on safety protocols and technical procedures.
- Communicate with other departments, subcontractors, and clients to ensure efficient workflow.
- Resolve worksite issues and escalate complex problems to management when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).
- Proven experience as a mechanical technician or supervisor.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, pumps, and motors.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and technical drawings.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and regulations.
- Proficiency with tools and equipment used in mechanical repair and installation.
Working Conditions:
