Material Controller

Position Summary:

The Material Controller is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, distribution, and tracking of materials and inventory. This role ensures that materials are available when needed, properly stored, and accurately recorded in the inventory system, contributing to smooth operations and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of inventory data into ERP or warehouse management systems.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement or suppliers to replenish as needed.
• Organize and maintain material storage areas in compliance with safety and efficiency standards.
• Issue materials to production or project teams as per requirements and ensure proper documentation.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and support full physical inventories.
• Track material movements and update stakeholders on availability or delays.
• Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, logistics, and project teams for material planning and forecasting.
• Identify and report discrepancies, damaged goods, or inventory variances.
• Comply with company safety, environmental, and quality procedures and regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or logistics training preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in material control, inventory management, or warehousing.
• Proficient in inventory management software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and handle materials and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
• Knowledge of international shipping documentation and material traceability.
• Familiarity with ISO standards or industry-specific material control protocols
