Employment Information

An HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. The technician ensures systems are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with local codes and environmental laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install new HVAC systems including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ductwork, and related components.
  • Inspect and diagnose HVAC systems to identify problems and implement repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacement, system cleaning, and tune-ups.
  • Calibrate thermostats and ensure proper system function.
  • Handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to test system performance and safety.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing recommendations and explaining repair needs or upgrade options.
  • Maintain service logs and complete required documentation.
  • Comply with safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school or HVAC certification preferred.
  • EPA 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal) required.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of hands-on HVAC experience 
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Proficient with HVAC tools, diagnostic equipment, and digital systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.

Work Environment:
