HSE Supervisor (Health, Safety, and Environment Supervisor)
Job Summary:
The HSE Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations at worksites to ensure a safe working environment. This role involves conducting inspections, delivering training, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support daily health, safety, and environmental operations at the site.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and procedures.
- Ensure all personnel follow safety policies and use appropriate PPE.
- Deliver HSE training sessions and toolbox talks to employees and subcontractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain and update HSE documentation including safety manuals, policies, and registers.
- Promote a positive safety culture through regular communication, awareness campaigns, and proactive engagement.
- Ensure emergency response plans and procedures are in place and well understood.
- Monitor and enforce environmental regulations related to waste management, emissions, and spills.
- Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies regarding health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are required.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of HSE experience in construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of national and international safety regulations and standards.
- Strong observational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams to uphold a strong safety culture.
