Summary:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with relevant codes and standards. This role supports operational reliability, ensures safety, and contributes to the efficient performance of electrical systems across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, control systems, and equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and tools.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve electrical issues.
  • Document work performed, test results, and maintenance logs.
  • Assist in commissioning new electrical systems and support project implementations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma or associate degree in Electrical Technology or related field is preferred.
  • Certification or license as a Journeyman or Master Electrician (as required by location/role).
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems (AC/DC), PLCs, motors, and control panels.
  • Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of safety practices and procedures (e.g., lockout/tagout, PPE).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work on-call shifts or overtime as needed.
