Job Summary:
The Document Controller (E&I, Costing, PMC) is responsible for managing project documentation in alignment with engineering, costing, and PMC standards. This role ensures the accuracy, accessibility, and timely distribution of all technical documents related to Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) projects, while also supporting cost control documentation and project reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Document Control:
- Manage and control all project documentation (drawings, specifications, reports, correspondence).
- Ensure proper version control and secure storage (hard copy and digital).
- Maintain document registers, logs, and tracking systems.
- Distribute documents to relevant stakeholders and ensure timely feedback and updates.
- Review documents for compliance with PMC and E&I standards.
Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Support:
- Handle E&I documentation such as wiring diagrams, loop drawings, instrument index, data sheets, etc.
- Coordinate with engineers to ensure proper documentation of technical changes and updates.
- Assist in compiling as-built documentation for E&I systems.
Costing & Budget Documentation:
- Support cost control teams by organizing and updating cost-related documents.
- Maintain costing reports, budgets, and purchase records.
- Assist in documentation for cost variation approvals, change orders, and vendor invoices.
PMC Support:
- Ensure documentation meets PMC standards, including formatting, QA/QC requirements, and approval workflows.
- Support project reporting with accurate document records.
- Facilitate document flow between clients, contractors, and consultants.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's in Engineering (preferably Electrical/Instrumentation) or relevant field.
- 3+ years of experience in document control, especially in E&I and PMC projects.
- Familiarity with ISO document control standards and project documentation protocols.
- Strong knowledge of E&I technical terminology and documentation.
- Proficient in document control software (e.g., Aconex, EDMS, SharePoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with oil & gas, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Knowledge of Primavera, MS Project, or other project management tools.
- Exposure to cost control systems and financial documentation processes.
