The Area Planner is responsible for developing, analyzing, and managing plans for the optimal use of physical space within a designated region or property portfolio. This role involves assessing spatial needs, forecasting future requirements, and ensuring that all planning aligns with organizational goals, compliance standards, and efficiency metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct space planning and utilization analysis across assigned areas or facilities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, real estate, design, and construction teams) to gather requirements and define planning objectives.
- Prepare layout proposals, area plans, and presentation materials for space reallocation or new development projects.
- Use CAD software or planning tools to create and modify space allocation drawings.
- Monitor occupancy levels, trends, and usage data to recommend improvements or changes.
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and reporting related to space management.
- Ensure plans comply with local zoning laws, health and safety regulations, and company standards.
- Participate in site visits and stakeholder meetings to evaluate existing conditions and gather input
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in space planning, area management, or related roles.
- Proficiency in space planning tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, CAFM/IWMS software).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in retail, commercial real estate, or corporate facilities planning.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate stakeholder needs into actionable plans.
- Project management certification
