A roustabout supports drilling and production operations on oil and gas rigs or facilities. They handle general labor tasks, assist skilled workers, and maintain equipment and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and repair oilfield equipment such as pipes, valves, and machinery
- Load and unload supplies and materials
- Clean and maintain tools, machinery, and work areas
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of rigs and work camps
- Operate forklifts, cranes, and other equipment under supervision
- Follow safety procedures and report hazards or incidents
- Perform general maintenance on site (e.g., painting, welding assistance)
Skills and Qualifications:
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous oilfield experience (a plus but not always required)
