Employment Information

A MIG Welder (Metal Inert Gas Welder) is responsible for fusing metal components together using a gas-shielded arc welding process. The role requires precise handling of welding equipment, reading blueprints, and ensuring the structural integrity and quality of welded materials in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG welding on various metal components based on technical drawings or blueprints
  • Set up, operate, and maintain MIG welding equipment and tools
  • Inspect materials and finished welds for accuracy, strength, and adherence to specifications
  • Prepare and clean welding surfaces to ensure strong welds
  • Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear at all times
  • Work with team members to complete projects and meet deadlines
  • Perform basic maintenance on equipment and report malfunctions
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Keep accurate records of work completed

Qualifications:

      High school diploma or GED (preferred)

  • Technical training or welding certification (AWS or equivalent) is a plus
  • Proven experience as a MIG welder in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Proficient with hand tools and measuring devices (e.g., calipers, tape measures)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to [X] lbs)
  • Knowledge of welding safety standards and practices

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with other welding techniques (TIG, Stick, Flux-core)
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes and power tools
