Job Summary:
The Industrial Electrician (Grade B) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within an industrial facility. The role involves working with high and low voltage systems, troubleshooting electrical issues, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting continuous operation of production systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in machinery, control panels, and power systems.
- Support the commissioning and testing of new equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and document findings.
- Work collaboratively with mechanical and instrumentation teams to support plant operations.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Participate in emergency breakdown response and support root cause analysis.
Requirements:
Education & Certifications:
- Trade qualification as an Industrial Electrician or equivalent.
- Valid electrician license (as required by local/national regulations).
- Grade B Electrical License (as per regional classification).
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or technical training program.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in an industrial electrical role.
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motor control systems, and industrial automation preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces, heights, or adverse weather.
