Electrician Job Description

Position Summary:
An electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This includes wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical components. Electricians must follow safety codes and regulations, read technical diagrams, and troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and circuit diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.
• Inspect electrical components and identify electrical hazards or issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning systems using tools and testing equipment.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Provide regular maintenance to systems to prevent future problems.
• Work independently or as part of a team on construction or renovation projects.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
• Valid electrician license or certification (as required by region/state).
• Proven experience as an electrician or in a related role.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Physical stamina and good hand-eye coordination.
