Assistant Engineer Maintenance

The Assistant Engineer – Maintenance supports the Maintenance Engineer in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all machinery, equipment, and systems within the facility. This role involves preventive maintenance, breakdown repair, troubleshooting, and assisting in continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs for mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns promptly to minimize production interruptions.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify areas for improvement or upgrade.
• Maintain records of maintenance work, spare parts, and inventory using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
• Follow safety and quality standards in all maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance tasks with minimal disruption.
• Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and support implementation of corrective actions.
• Participate in training sessions and stay updated on equipment manuals, maintenance best practices, and safety procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance or plant operations.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, PLCs, hydraulics/pneumatics (depending on industry).
• Proficiency with tools, diagnostic instruments, and CMMS software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
