Job Summary:
The Swimming Pool Technician is responsible for the maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of residential and/or commercial swimming pools and related equipment. This role ensures water quality, equipment functionality, and overall pool safety standards are met consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test and balance water chemistry (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, etc.).
- Clean pool surfaces, skimmers, baskets, filters, and pump systems.
- Monitor and maintain proper operation of pumps, heaters, filters, and other mechanical systems.
- Perform routine inspections of the pool area to identify and address safety or maintenance issues.
- Add necessary chemicals and adjust chemical levels to maintain safe water conditions.
- Diagnose and repair minor plumbing or electrical issues related to pool equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local and state health regulations and safety codes.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance performed and chemicals used.
- Report major repair needs to supervisors or facility management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
- Previous experience in pool maintenance or similar field preferred.
- Knowledge of water chemistry and pool equipment operation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on mechanical systems.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Valid driver’s license (if travel is required).
