Swimming Pool Technician

Job Summary:

The Swimming Pool Technician is responsible for the maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of residential and/or commercial swimming pools and related equipment. This role ensures water quality, equipment functionality, and overall pool safety standards are met consistently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and balance water chemistry (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, etc.).
• Clean pool surfaces, skimmers, baskets, filters, and pump systems.
• Monitor and maintain proper operation of pumps, heaters, filters, and other mechanical systems.
• Perform routine inspections of the pool area to identify and address safety or maintenance issues.
• Add necessary chemicals and adjust chemical levels to maintain safe water conditions.
• Diagnose and repair minor plumbing or electrical issues related to pool equipment.
• Ensure compliance with local and state health regulations and safety codes.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance performed and chemicals used.
• Report major repair needs to supervisors or facility management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• Previous experience in pool maintenance or similar field preferred.
• Knowledge of water chemistry and pool equipment operation.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on mechanical systems.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
• Valid driver’s license (if travel is required).
